Sat. April 20, 2024 - 75 bikers and numerous volunteers participated in a Benefit Bike Run to benefit Northern Dine Relief Effort's volunteer team leader Eric Trevizo, who suffered a stroke towards the end of February and remains hospitalized. God bless you, every one.

THURS., AUG 10, 2023 - Ames Myers brought in 5 cords of well-dried wood from Tuba City to Shiprock, to Chili Yazzie's farm, for future distribution. Wood supplied by Nature Conservancy; travel supported by NDCVRE.
THURS, SEPT 29, 2022 - Over 250 school supplies and hygiene kits were handed out to grandparents, parents, teachers and students at the Navajo Family Voices table by Det. Chris Ruiz and Sgt. Carl from Pleasant Grove UT Police. All supplies were donated by Pleasant Grove UT community organizations and schools. Indian Country Grassroots Support helped to pay for transport using a second trailer.
WED., SEPT 28, 2022 - Distribution at Sheep Springs 230+ cars, supplies donated by Pleasant Grove police, schools and community organizations and residents, coordinated by Navajo Family Voices, Sheep Springs Chapter Manager Kevin Begay and chapter and program volunteers.
Pleasant Grove police dept. brought in $15,000 in wood and construction supplies for distribution to Sheep Springs area flood damaged families that was set aside from the distribution of other supplies for families to come later.

SAT., MARCH 19, 2022 - Trailer loads of toys and kids' backpacks collected by Pat Wimmer and kids from Pleasant Grove, UT, High School and drove in by Det. Chris Ruiz of Pleasant Grove, UT Police Dept. were distributed at the Old Shiprock Police Station by community-wide all systems support from Navajo Nation first responders, Shiprock Search and Rescue, Red Sparrow, Pumpkin Patch Fundraisers, and Navajo Family Voices. Feb 5 - First drive-thru distribution of 2021 at Shiprock LDS Church, 358 Sunterra - USDA meat/dairy/produce boxes, 75 CORE buckets, 100 steam corn bags and 150 toys distributed to vehicles and 880 picked up by remote senior centers and chapters for self-distribution locally. This was by far the most unexpected and potentially chaotic delivery after cancellations due to weather 2x then a postponement of a day resulting in loss of forklift and loss of a critical team member previously scheduled for vaccine. Pumpkin Patch Fundraisers and Central Consolidated School District came to the rescue with forklifts and crews, with CCSD adding 11 plant operations volunteers at extreme short notice. Total 25 magnificent last minute volunteers, including Shiprock Traditional Farmer Cooperative, LDS Church, Shiprock Search & Rescue, Navajo Family Voices. Day of blessings.

Aug 4 - A final food distribution of 400 boxes took place at Mesa Elementary gymnasium before we moved to our new facility, the gymnasium at the Shiprock LDS Church. LDS is joining/partnering the coalition to reach even more remote Northern Agency communities, they chipped in to help us swiftly and easily move. Thank you all.

August 2 - NDCVRE and the Navajo COVID Relief Effort of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had a fruitful meeting at the Shiprock Stake to make introductions and explore coordinating relief efforts. The meeting included a tour of supplies in the church gymnasium.

July 30 - 31 - Emergency food and water deliveries to 130 Ft. Defiance Agency infected and quarantined families with Burnside, AZ as staging point, and to 2 Shiprock families without electricity, water, or phone service.
|
July 29 - a remarkable and humbling day of coordinating donations. Receiving assistance from Hazel James and San Juan Collaborative for Health Equity, who purchased local Shiprock organic squash from Wallace Buck's farm and gathered food supplies including ground meat for 25 Sanders homebound veterans who requested emergency supplies from NDCVRE, both groups stepped up to serve our veterans despite the distance and without regard for service area. Shiprock delegate Eugenia Charles-Newton transported the supplies with her husband Leroy to Sanders this same afternoon.
The Shiprock Traditional Farmer Cooperative were in need of stall space to sell their squash off-reservation. Through NDCVRE efforts, R.A. "Squeak" Hunt immediately donated two prime spots in Waterflow across from his Original Sweetmeats store, Tse' yaa'ak' ahi, that he will mow and prepare for the farmers, whose produce is pre-washed and sanitized. |

July 28 - Community Pick-Ups of 500 USDA/Shamrock Dairy boxes freshly delivered in refrigerated truck then immediately stored in walk-in cooler at Mesa Elementary gymnasium, brought out for loading as families pulled up. Boxes were picked up by families and chapter/community organizers, all 500 boxes were advertised on KNDN and entirely distributed before 5 pm.
